The Gardens of Wood Street

Eleanor Hill

Wood Street Station, beneath the bridge

On Your Terms, seeks to create a language-based mural and lighting design, within the underpass at Wood Street Station, creating an attractive gateway into the borough.

Following in the tradition of mural-making in London, the new design will be shaped by residents, and feature local narratives and language as a representation of Walthamstow’s community and character.

This process will include community interviews and public drawing events to create a glossary, recording phrases and informal descriptions of the local area as well as oral histories. This body of research will be interpreted to create a digitally produced illustration that is print transferred onto a series of custom shaped enamel panels to be installed beneath the bridge.
