‘Greenleaf Illuminations’ is a lighting-led public improvement realm strategy that seeks to enhance the visibility and character of building frontages, forecourts and natural features at the gateway to Greenleaf Road, particularly after nightfall.
The strategy will bring light to a series of partially obscured, poorly lit spaces adjacent to the footway between Hoe Street and Brookdale Road. In place of a singular gesture, the scheme will create a composition of tailored lighting interventions that improve the image and experience of the street as a whole and act as a catalyst for further improvements.
It sets an ambition for Greenleaf Road to become a pleasant route and important civic centre that has a coherent and distinctive character and that feels safe to inhabit and pass by during the day and after dark.
